At the Region 114 Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) annual community leadership celebration, the North Kitsap School District took a moment to honor the Poulsbo Sons of Norway and Julia Weston for their unwavering dedication to the district’s most vulnerable students.
Recognized for their “Winter Care” drive, the Sons of Norway orchestrated a compassionate effort to support students experiencing homelessness during the chilly winter months. Spearheaded by Julia Weston, a devoted member of both NKSD staff and the Sons of Norway, the initiative provided essential items such as personal care products, warm clothing, hats, gloves, coats, and a sprinkle of joy with fun additions for the holiday season. Through meticulous coordination, including gathering, sorting, packing, and delivering, Julia, with the help of her Sons of Norway family, made a meaningful impact on the lives of nearly 70 children in the community.
